    Louis Thomas Jordan was an American saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and bandleader who was popular from the late 1930's to the early 1950's, known as "The King of the Jukebox".

    Louis was born in Brinkley, Arkansas the 8th of July 1908. His father James Aaron Jordan was a teacher of music and a bandleader of the Brinkley Brass Band and the Rabbit Foot Minstrels. His mother Adell (Buford) Jordan died when Louis was young and he was raised by his grandmother Maggie Jordan and his aunt Lizzie Reid.
